James F. McKenzie began practicing law in 1973 and founded the firm in 1982. Mr. McKenzie had previously been associated with the Levin firm, a partner in Myrick and McKenzie, and a partner in Kinsey, Myrick, Troxel and McKenzie before opening this firm at the Scott Street building, which is one of the buildings still being used by the firm today. Phil Hall came to the firm in 2002 after graduating from law school. In 2006, Jack De La Piedra joined the firm.
